following a point

Marta Rivera
Dear all,

I'm new here, hopefully any of you could help me. I need to follow a point
(between 2 and 5 pixels) in a video. Exactly I need the XY coordinates of
that point (of its center of mass). Now I use the function Analyze ->
Analyze Particles to do it. But it doesn't work very well. Is there any
plugin to do it better?

Thank you,    Marta Rivera-Alba.

Dear Marta, look for all plugins with keywords : "tracking or tracker
or spot tracker, particle tracker, single molecule tracking etc."
maybe you will have to test some oh them to find out the one that
fits to your needs...

Hi Marta,

This is not a very clear description, what is the problem?

Accuracy? If your images have a zero background, you could kill
the threshold, create a small selection around the point and run
"Measure" again to get the center of mass including any lower
intensity that was below the lower threshold before.

Measuring the wrong particle? You could have a look at my
macro posted previously
   https://list.nih.gov/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0705&L=imagej&H=1&O=A&P=8201
for an example how to suppress particles too far away from the
position in the previous slice.
