Dear colleagues,
I am working on Histologic sections in temporal bones and I need to get exact measurements of the diameter of long process of incus. For every single specimen I have about 30 sections that includes incus long process. However, sections are not perpedicular to the long process. Is it possible using ImageJ to reconstruct a clear perpedicular cut to incus, so I can measure the diameter of long process? I would be grateful if I could have information about the steps of how to do it. Best regards, Michail |
hi
This has been discussed many times go through following link http://rsbweb.nih.gov/ij/docs/examples/dna-contours/index.html Properly set the measurement You have to define your ROI for each image regards Santosh 2010/1/27 m_hatzim <[hidden email]>: > Dear colleagues, > > I am working on Histologic sections in temporal bones and I need to get > exact measurements of the diameter of long process of incus. Hi Michail,
You might find the Untilt Stack plugin: http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/plugins/untilt-stack/index.html does what you need. There are detailed instructions on the plugin documentation page. The "Plugins - Transform - Interactive Stack Rotation" will do it:
1. Open a stack 2. Run the plugin 3. push 'F1' to see all mouse and key bindings to rotate the stack 4. when done rotating, make sure the window is active and push 'enter' to convert it to a regular ImageJ stack. 5. Draw a line ROI and push 'm' to measure it. It's in Fiji: http://pacific.mpi-cbg.de Albert -- http://albert.rierol.net |
Is it also possible to measure the dimensions of the ear canal?
