instance number DCM_import tool to sort

Barnes Anna (UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON HOSPITALS NHS FOUNDATION

Can anyone tell me how to import a DICOM sequence using the image instance number to sort.  I'm using the excellent dcm_import plugin and I can see the list of instance numbers in the bottom panel for each series which are not in order so when I "import images" they stack up in the wrong order, I'm not sure what it is using instead to order them.  If I use the DICOM sort tool I can chose the image number to sort on but it won't sort the series out for me.

Any help much appreciated.
thanks
Anna

The File>Import>Image Sequence command will import a DICOM series and sort on the image instance number (tag 0020,0013). You can also open and sort a DICOM series by dragging and dropping the folder onto the "ImageJ" window.

Thanks, what if there are lots of series in the same directory?
