splitting time series into frames

Nadia Cummins
Dear ImageJ users,
Im sure there is a simple way to do it but I havent come across it:

All I need is to split my hyperstack (3 channels, z slices, time series) into individual z stacks for each time point. At the moment Im painfully doing it by going Stacks>tools>Create substack>frame 1, etc.

Surely there is a better way?

Thanks! Nadia

Dear Nadia,

I would write a little macro to do that. Just out of interest, why do you split into individual z stacks for each time point.

Re: splitting time series into frames

Hi Kees,

wow Im really surprised that its not already an option. Im doing that because my frames arent actually time points, they are individual tiles of a large region, which I need to stitch together. The files just happen to be displayed like that when I open them.

Hi Nadia,

The Bioformats Importer has an option to split time points (Split timepoints - Timelapse data will be opened as a separate stack for each timepoint.). It sounds like this is might do what you want to do.

Regards,
Volko
